A Great Conclusion for the 2nd Year of “SPRC Badminton Championships 2025”

SPRC Badminton Championships 2025 recently came to a final ending with a resounding success with Mr. Kamthorn Wehon, Deputy Governor of Rayong Province presided over the award presentation ceremony. The tournament held at Rayong Provincial Stadium was a collaboration between Star Petroleum Refining Public Company Limited (SPRC), The Badminton Association of Thailand Under Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King, and Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization with aim to empower and provide opportunities for youths to develop their potential towards professional badminton leagues.

 

Mr. Pongkorn Chochuwong, Executive Vice President, Operational Excellence of SPRC added “The SPRC Badminton Championships 2025 tournament was one of the annual corporate social activities organized in line with the company’s policy to enhance youths and children’s capacity as well as encouraging them to fill their free time with useful pursuits. The competition which was held for the 2nd consecutive year continued to be well-received by the youths as badminton is not only easily accessible and affordable but it helps lay a foundation in promoting health, enhancing their sense of discipline, unity and quality sportsmanship as well as an inspiration to follow their dreams in the future.”

 

This championship event which was a graceful success with over 200 players nationwide competing in the final rounds. The event was filled cheering sound, excitement, and incredible talents across all categories Including singles (men’s and women’s), doubles (men’s and women’s) and mixed doubles in 7-age categories: U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 and Open with total 416 prizes worth over THB. 783,000. Meew – Pornpawee Chochuwong, Thailand National Badminton Player, was present at the event to encourage and inspire the players. During the event, she also said “This competition was considered a good beginning for the youth players who dreamed to compete in an international level. I encourage them to practice heavily to reinforce their confidence in each competition. They need to gradually develop their skill, keep practicing consistently and step by step compete in various matches. I believe that they all have a chance to become a national representative. I would like to thank SPRC to initiate this event and make it possible for badminton enthusiasts to hone their competition skill. This event is considered one of the major national tournaments participated by top talented players in the country.”

 

After winning this year Mixed Double, Bam – Atitaya Povanon and SomO – Patida Srisawat, JELE SBU Badminton Academy, revealed “JELE SBU Badminton Club invited us to compete in this event. We’re very glad to win this tournament as we consistently focused on our practice and nutrition plan. We fully support and encourage other youth players to follow their dreams. If we are confident, we can do it. There is either loss or win in every sport competition, so, do not pressure yourself. Thanks to SPRC to organize this event and provide a competing stage for all badminton enthusiasts!”

 

Khimhun – Tanawat Yimjit, Banthongyord Badminton School, the winner of Open Men’s Single, said “I’m really glad as I had practiced heavily for this game. I was ecstatic after snatching the championship. It was my first time at this event and I think it’s a really good tournament and a great opportunity for junior players to hone and develop their skills as well as study their competitors. I would like to advise the youth players to committedly practice, reinforce their determination and concentrate on self-development.”

 

Moreover, the event also promoted the participation of local communities showcasing local exhibitors and vendors by offering space and opportunity for local business operators to generate incomes and boost grassroot economy and enhance tourism in Rayong province. SPRC Badminton Championships 2025 was not just a stage for badminton players to prove their potential but also a part of major forces to sustainably empower youth development, promote health and improve life quality of local communities in Rayong province.
