Following the historic inundation in Hat Yai district, identified as the
severest flooding witnessed in three centuries which caused widespread devastation, Hilton
properties in Thailand have united to mobilise essential support specifically targeted at the critical post-flood recovery phase.
A formal handover ceremony was held at the Royal Thai Air Force Museum, where Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Deputy Minister of Defence, alongside Air Chief Marshal Rawin Thanomsing, Commander of the Air Combat Command, accepted the significant donation of highly-needed recovery supplies from the Hilton executive delegation.
This major collaborative effort was spearheaded by Mr. Tim Tate, General Manager of Millennium Hilton Bangkok. He was joined in this unified front by Ms. Jennifer Vivian, General Manager of KROMO Bangkok, Curio Collection by Hilton, and representatives from CONRAD Bangkok and Hilton Garden Inn Bangkok Riverside, demonstrating a firm commitment to assisting communities during this crucial restoration period.
The substantial contribution was carefully selected to meet the urgent demands of the cleanup and rehabilitation efforts following the massive flooding. It primarily comprises a large quantity of crucial cleaning and restoration equipment, alongside essential consumer goods, rice, and dry foods. These supplies will be expedited by the military to directly support the vital recovery missions, helping Hat Yai residents rebuild their homes and lives following this unprecedented disaster.
Mr. Tim Tate, General Manager of Millennium Hilton Bangkok, commented: “We are deeply concerned for the welfare of the communities in Hat Yai facing the aftermath of this unprecedented disaster. On behalf of Hilton properties in Thailand, I would like to express our profound gratitude to the Royal Thai Air Force for their crucial support in transporting these essential recovery supplies directly to the areas of greatest need. Furthermore, we extend our sincere appreciation to all branches of the Royal Thai Armed Forces and everyone involved in the relief operations. We commend the dedication of all personnel who stand ready to support and assist the people during these difficult times.”
